I remember being 14 years old in Buffalo, listening to the game the day after Horton’s death on the transistor radio, under the covers. It was very sad, very heavy. Both teams wore black armbands. Something people may not know was that during that game, the Sabres fell behind the expansion Flames 4-1 in the first. The Sabres fans in Buffalo in attendance and also in mourning, actually booed the Sabres off the ice after the first. The Sabres then rebounded to tie the game 4-4 . Buffalo has always been a tough crowd!
