8-Minute Healthy Shoulder Warm Up

Dave Schmitz, known as The Band Man, suggests that his 8-Minute Healthy Shoulder Warm Up routine will mobilize the entire upper body while activating the rotator cuff and scapular stabilizers (and I’ll suggest these exercises would be helpful to baseball players and quarterbacks for their throwing movements)…..

The band does several things to enhance shoulder mobility with stability:

  • Press against the band activates rotator cuff and scapular stabilizers
  • The band creates a passive overpressure to challenge flexibility
  • The horizontal attachment activates the trunk to eliminate Low Back compensation
  • The band functions as both a strength tool and mobility tool
  • The band is not gravity dependent which allows for more freedom of movement
  • Band allows for postural awareness during movement
