Man In The Arena

I urge members who like the above to visit the Wikipedia page where its history is explained far better than I can do here.

This is but a short snippet from a 35-page speech titled “Citizenship in a Republic“, delivered by former US President Theodore Roosevelt in Paris, France on April 23, 1910.

That speech is now over 100-years old, but what has endured to today is the above passage known as “The Man in the Arena“.

As you might imagine, it’s been used to inspire numerous sport teams prior to championship competitions.  As for this old coach, he thinks this piece is worthy enough to share with loved ones, a team, or a favorite individual athlete.

PS:  If you’d like to doctor and print your own copy of “Man In The Arena”, I suggest going to the linked Wikipedia page, and copying it from that write-up.
