I mention in this old episode about something I did with my High School Prep and Junior HS teams — in reference to “tryouts” and a dresscode — and I think they might be helpful for today’s coaches to consider.
The previous show mentioned a new Facebook group, and I thought I’d provide the address again here: Hockey Moms & Dads Sharing Advice. Really, I’m disappointed it hasn’t gotten much traction so far, but maybe listeners can help with that.
If you’re a coach, please do make note of the way I use “artful” teaching techniques to speed my students’ or players’ growth. Yes, the science is important, but a coach’s artful way often separates him or her from the rest.
As of now, I’m planning a next free online Hockey MeetUp for mid-February. I haven’t exactly nailed down the title or the date and time yet, so I’d welcome your input.
Look for more of my “Rules for Winners” in this episode.
Then, as always, I invite listeners to comment down below. I really do appreciate your input.
