Hurricane Alert

Brenda and I love (almost) everything about Florida.  Of course, one of the pitfalls about living here is the yearly danger of hurricanes, just about this time of year.  We’ve dodged a number of such storms since arriving here — about a decade ago, but one just never knows what the future holds.  Hey, just a little twist or turn of the wind, one way or the other, and we get either nothing or a life threatening event.  Anyway, I jot this post just to alert hockey friends about the possibility that we could at least lose power and the Internet, and perhaps briefly lack a way of updating this site for a time.

With that, this report — and future updates — are thanks to weather.com

“Tropical Storm Idalia may rapidly intensify into a major hurricane by the time it makes landfall in Florida on Wednesday.

Life-threatening storm surge, damaging winds and flooding rain are all expected in parts of Florida later Tuesday through Wednesday, spreading to the Southeast coast by Wednesday and Thursday.

If you live in an area prone to storm surge, be sure to follow the advice of local officials if evacuations are ordered.”

Oh, just to add…  We’re in the Tampa, Florida area.
