Mistakes are REQUIRED

I had to shake my head when Shawnee told me the title of her new video, and I had to tell her my experiences when it came to players dealing with mistakes. Ya, as I related to a lot of young players who came along later, the one trait I found common to my former students who “made it”, was that they all had the ability to laugh at themselves as they initially tried a new skill. They’d try and fail, try again and fail, then try again and finally get it. As for those who never made it, they played it safe all the time and always seemed to fear making a mistake.
